Struggle to Waking Up Early: My Journey and Understanding Why I am Struggling

Struggle, Struggle to wake up early. The days moving quickly reminding it’s time to make change. My story is an analysis of finding it harder to wake up early.

Waking up early

I have tried n number of ways to wake up early — multiple alarms starting from 6 a.m. It has worked nonetheless, try and try yet it wouldn’t be until 7 a.m. One thing I have understood from this approach of waking up to alarms is one word useless. You ever wondered how some people are natural early risers despite being night owls. The answer lies in the mindset, what you want is what you will be. If one chose to wake early, they would if not the instance sorry not happening.

Why do one need to wake early?

Research says when one wakes up early not only there is a feel of energetic with abundance ideas also calm and composure. Staying calm despite situations requires tons of patience. In a world like ours, no one has time for anybody hence we hardly stop to think, let alone understand. It is said children need 8+ hours of sleep and adults require 7 hours. This has made me think is that the requirement, made me understood you choose the hours your body needs for rest. There is no deadline though one should get sufficient amount of rest, to function well the coming day.

How to prepare to sleep?

The 2 hours post dinner is very important one should stay away from phone/electronic gadgets that are major disrupters of sleep. If one wants to do something productive, instead of sitting ideal go for a walk, meditate, read. If one argues there is no nature outside to take a stroll outside then walk inside your home. There is a solution to every problem, it is you who has to analyze the pre-requisites and be prepared to fight.

What to do if I am unable to get sleep?

Take a deep breath and follow the below steps:

  1. Close your eyes
  2. Concentrate on the red light you see
  3. Take another deep breath
  4. Listen to the sounds around you(eg. fan
  5. Be conscious of your environment focus
  6. Rub your palms together until they are warm
  7. Keep them on your face
  8. Feel the warmth
  9. Open your eyes

Doing this 9 steps one feels a sense of belonging a relaxed yet subtle feeling of composure. Now hop on to your bed close your eyes for a couple minutes without any thoughts. By the time you wake up it’s morning and your ready to start your day.

How do I get back to normal?

These are some questions that people have about insomnia. In brief, Insomnia is a sleeping disorder caused due to various reasons like stress, sleep deprivation, illness. Similar to a phone, that requires to be charged in order to function without being shutdown our body requires sleep to be energized. This insomnia stops that from happening one feels tired during the day, unable to concentrate, constant resistance in performance, mood swings.

I have faced this issue until few months ago, I initially thought it was bacause of my laziness. Delving deep I understood various factors contributed to this mainly stress. The thing about being stress it gives out a message to our brain making us unable to concentrate on the task at hand not resolved unless we take the steps.

How did I come out of this issue?

Was I successful or not?

Yes and No. I have understood the root cause being my stress and have taken necessary measures to be in control. I still struggle with stress and anxiety in a bit measure. First, I haven’t been diagnosed with anxiety though I have been told to concentrate on my overall health. In some measure, all of us are stressed/anxious/depressed it is perfectly fine to feel that way.

What is okay to feel stress/anxiety/depressed?

We humans are hustle beings and during this tenure of life we do push ourselves to the maximum. I know a lot of motivational speakers would tell you push yourself above to achieve more. The thing about success that no one tells is it also requires a streak of luck. One has to understand you might be good but remember if you work harder someone out there works hardest, you are smart someone out there is smartest, you are talented someone out there is extraordinary talent.

There will always be someone better, push yourselves to achievement no doubt but understand your limits. There is a limit to everything once crossed even sweetest of things taste bitter. Ask your body how long does it need for sleep, exercise, meditate. Ask your body the food needed to maintain your health. One doesn’t require abs or muscles to show your healthy. A healthy body comes in different packages, one can look thin and yet be healthy.

Accept yourselves at the same evaluate on your decisions to maintain healthy inside out.
